2025-2026 IBC Family Program

Current Program Status:

The IBC Family Program is full and we are not accepting applications.

Context

There continues to be interest in opening up weekends for the children of IBC members who do not yet meet IBC’s membership minimum age requirement of 16. When IBC first began decades ago, families played together at IBC.

What’s new

  • Family program membership for 2025-2026 will be capped at 16 children.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Open to the children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews (“registrants”) of 2025-2026 IBC members (age 18 or older). In this case, the IBC Member will be playing on court with the children, not the parent or legal guardian.
  2. Registrants must have been a MINIMUM of 8 years old as of September 30, 2025. Children under the age of 8 years old may be considered, but this requires review by the IBC Executives on a case by case basis. Please contact us before completing the registration if your child does not meet our minimum age requirement AND has not been assessed by an IBC Executive. Previous registrants are considered to be ok to re-register unless instructed otherwise.
  3. Registrants must have been UNDER 16 years of age on September 30, 2025.

Schedule

  • The IBC Family Program runs on all IBC WEEKEND (i.e. Saturday and Sunday) play dates.
  • Note: The Saturday play date is 3 hours in duration and will be available to family program participants until further notice (we are organizing additional adult programming for Saturdays and the 3 hour timeframe may be adjusted back to 2 hours).
  • The first date of play is Saturday, September 6, 2025.
  • Fee

    $40 per child
Payment in cash (exact change) or cheque (payable to “International Badminton Club”)

    Rules

    1. The application form and waivers must be signed by the Parent or Legal Guardian.
    2. The IBC Family Program will be limited to registrants who meet the eligibility criteria and complete all registration requirements (i.e. application, waivers, payment). First come, first served. Registrations will be accepted until the program’s membership cap is reached.
    3. Being enrolled in the IBC Family Program does not count as regular/full IBC membership and does not guarantee membership in subsequent seasons or programs.
    4. Adult IBC members must be present with the children associated with their account. Under no circumstances may children be “dropped off” and left unattended.
    5. Courts 5 and 6 will be reserved for the IBC Family Program. Additional courts may be made available depending on capacity – this will be determined by an IBC Executive or designate who is present.
    6. Court time is limited to 20 minute intervals if other family program participants are waiting. An effort should be made to be conscientious of others and participants are expected to rotate court time with other Family Program participants.
    7. IBC reserves the right to cancel enrolment of any participant who disrupt IBC play or do not comply with IBC rules & etiquette or IBC’s Family Program rules.
    8. Fees paid for the IBC Family Program are non-refundable and non-transferable.
    9. IBC reserves the right to amend these rules without notice.
